For all the calculated violence and bloodshed, there is always human error to blame. But what of the true darkness that resides within all of nature? One that is both visceral and vicious to its core?

You might turn a blind eye from the comfort of the order within your hiding place, but when the walls come down, you’ll see the wrath or the indifference of an untamed beast; the chaos hiding behind the veil of a caring mother, indiscreet.

And when the veil comes down, the rotting bodies will resurface along with the maggots that are born to devour them. The agonizing cries emerging from the victims of needless suffering will resonate, and along with them, the imperfections of a perfect creator, too.

When the veil comes down, you will then see nature as it is: one that is always at war against itself. And it is no mistake that we see its fragments and reflections within ourselves; after all, we are created in its image.

But to merely view these forces of nature within the purview of good and evil would be folly of great proportions. For they are not bound by such human constructs; they simply transcend them. Yet, you might say, “this is all by design; this is only a part of a masterfully crafted test of our convictions, a test of cosmic proportions and significance.”

No, no, no, why can’t you see? This is something far bigger than our egocentric tales of creation. There’s no sign of benevolence or purpose to be found within the erratic, violent, and indiscriminate forces of nature. For they are far, far greater than all and any of our precious little Gods and our unshakable convictions.
